Uzbekistan discussed the promotion of its products on American marketplaces and the purchase of cotton from the United States
Uzbekistan discussed the promotion of Uzbek products — from textiles to construction and electrical goods — on marketplaces such as Amazon and Walmart, as well as through American retail chains like Whole Foods Market, Bloomingdale’s, and The Home Depot.
The American side will organize educational seminars for Uzbek companies on certification and packaging according to U.S. standards.
The talks took place during a visit by a delegation from Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade (MIIT) to New York at the end of July. The delegation participated in three international exhibitions and presented products from 25 textile enterprises under the unified brand "Made in Uzbekistan."
As part of the visit, delegates met with representatives of major companies and associations such as Levi Strauss & Co, Macy’s, American Eagle Outfitters, PVH Corp, Tapestry Inc, as well as industry organizations like AAFA and USFIA. They discussed opportunities for placing orders and enabling Uzbek manufacturers to enter the U.S. market through sourcing mechanisms.
In addition, during meetings with the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Cotton Association, discussions were held on the supply of American cotton and the export of products made from raw materials processed in Uzbekistan.
