Textile Revolution in Uzbekistan: how the country becomes a new production center for world brands
A new ambitious player appears on the global map of the textile industry. Uzbekistan, known as a supplier of high -quality cotton for a long time, today is rapidly transforming into a powerful production hub for world -famous brands. This transition is not just a change in the economic strategy, but the result of a focused policy on modernizing the industry, attracting investments and integration into world supplies. Dozens of local enterprises are already sewing clothes for such giants as LC Waikiki, The North Face and Inditex, proving that Uzbek textiles are a synonym not only of raw materials, but also in quality, technology and reliability.
The scale of cooperation: numbers and brands
To date, 66 enterprises are already directly cooperating with international brands in the republic. Among them are famous companies such as LC Waikiki, Prof Max, Terranova, Defacto and the German Murk GmbH & Co KG Mens Fashion.
The dynamics of growth is impressive: in the last three years only partnership with more than 80 international brands have been established. This list includes such loud names such as The North Face, Engelbert Strauss, Collins, Carrera Jeans, Kiabi, Disney and Inditex (the Maternal company Zara, Bershka, etc.).
This cooperation is not concentrated in one region, but covers the whole country. The leaders in the number of enterprises working with brands are the Namangan region - 13, the city of Tashkent - 10, Tashkent - 8, Ferghana and Samarkand regions - 7 production facilities each. The annual production capacity of these enterprises exceeds 850 thousand tons of products, which indicates a serious industrial potential.
As vivid examples, one can cite:
- Uztex Group LLC (Khorezm region): with an annual capacity of 160 thousand tons, produces products for LC Waikiki, Terranova, Gloria Jeans and Auchan.
- Closter “Navbahor Textile” (Navoi region): produces 135 thousand tons of products, collaborating with the French brand Gemo.
- LLC Global Textiles (Ferghana Region): produces 62 thousand tons of knitwear for the French network Kiabi.
Economic effect: export, investment and jobs
Cooperation with world brands is not only prestige, but also a tangible economic benefit. According to the results of 2024, these enterprises produced 273 thousand tons of products for 12.9 trillion soums. Of these, 40.1 thousand tons of finished products worth $ 435.4 million were sent for export. It is noteworthy that the share of exports in the total production of these companies is 42% - an indicator of high competitiveness in foreign markets.
This direction is also an important source of employment. More than 37.5 thousand jobs have been created at these enterprises, which makes a significant contribution to the social stability of the regions.
Future plans: a new round of development
Uzbekistan does not intend to stop there. In 2025, as part of the investment program, it is planned to launch 20 additional production lines. This will increase the annual power to:
- 33 million units of finished sewing and trickens;
- 600 thousand square meters. m. finishing fabrics;
- 25 thousand tons of a knitted fabric.
It is expected that the implementation of these projects will bring $ 73 million additional exports, will allow you to master $ 84 million foreign investments and create more than 4200 new jobs.

The textile industry of Uzbekistan is experiencing a period of fundamental transformations. The transition from the export of raw materials to the production of finished branded products is already bearing fruits: export is growing, jobs are being created, and modern technologies and quality standards come to the country. If the current trends are preserved, Uzbekistan has every chance in the coming years to gain a foothold in the status of an important and reliable link in the global chain of fashionable clothing, standing on a par with the recognized industry leaders.
