In Uzbekistan, the customs duty on mixed fabrics will be canceled until 2028

The President also instructed to launch at least 100 thousand tons of such products by the end of the year.

At a video surge on the use of export capabilities and reserves in the textile industry, the president announced the abolition of customs duties to mixed fabrics and textiles.

At the meeting, it was noted that the price of yarn and fabrics in the country is on average 10-15% higher than that of the main competitors. The reason is the composition of the manufactured products: in Uzbekistan, it consists of 90% cotton, while in other countries 30–40% falls on polyester, viscose, spandex and other cheap synthetic materials.

Demand for artificial fiber and mixed fabrics in the world grows from year to year. At the same time, 100 thousand tons of mixed yarn, fabric and textiles are imported into Uzbekistan annually.

In this regard, until January 1, 2028, mixed fabrics and textiles will be exempted from paying the customs duty.

By the end of the year, responsible persons were instructed to launch at least 100 thousand tons of mixed textiles.
