Bukhara Region to Get a Textile Complex and a US$400 Million Cotton and Textile Cluster

On 3 November, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev launched a programme of 145 investment projects worth US$7.8 billion in Bukhara region. The textile industry is one of the programme’s key areas, alongside petrochemicals, energy, agriculture and tourism.

A textile complex under the Kurt Baver brand with a capacity of 62,000 tonnes of products per year will be built in Bukhara.

In Romitan district, a US$400 million cotton and textile cluster is being developed together with Chinese investors. Investors have also proposed developing 9,000 hectares of land, which will help raise the share of high value-added products to 65% and create US$100 million in additional export opportunities.
